Alice in Wonderland Costume Collection

"What is the use of a book, without pictures or conversations?"
~Alice

What is the use of art without artists or creation?
This is a collection of artwork by artists discovered on Etsy.com, each item being handmade, each item being an Alice in Wonderland theme. This classic tale filled with philosophical references by Lewis Carroll is well known and a personal favorite book that is easy to read more than once or ten times. Seeing as Halloween is creeping slowly to existence, it seems fit to dedicate a few blogs to costume ideas, whether being creative original idea or being your standard costume with a bit of imagination to spice it up and some help from the creativity found on etsy. Here are the items that I have selected to be part of the Alice in Wonderland costume collection.

If you have pierced ears, to match the Alice ensemble theme, these clock earrings are perfect. The clock represents the white rabbit's persistent acknowledgement of his own tardiness by looking at his pocket watch.

Altered Beauty Shop

"No wonder you're late. Why, this watch is exactly two days slow."
~Mad Hatter
No wonder your late. Why this watch is not even a watch, it is only watch pieces and parts.
Brandy Linn 18 Shop

When Alice finally finds her way to the other side of that tiny door, the garden is more extraordinary than from Alice's small view from the original side of the door. So here are some earrings to represent the lush garden.

Destinys Cove Shop

In Lewis Carrol's book, he illustrates Alice sleeping underneath a tree. The tree being where the story begins to unfold, I thought it only fit to include an item depicting a tree.
The Bold Banana Shop

While trick or treating, something has to hold the candy that your neighborhood passes out. Here is a perfect bag to go along with the Alice theme, the white rabbit.

Kazue West Shop

Even if this isn't a completely white rabbit, it is a great representation of the rabbit in the tale. Another bag to hold your trick or treat goodies.

Fink Gifts Shop

A pocket watch necklace is perfect to adorn your neck with yet another representation of that late rabbit.

Trash and Trinkets Shop

That pesky door that is way too small for Alice becomes increasingly larger as she shrinks after drinking a vile with the words "drink me" on its side.

Artsy 61175 Shop

Here is another lovely example of a bottle necklace filled with shrinking serum.

The tea party is one of the funniest parts of the whole book, so it only seems fit to reference it.

Here is yet another drinking serum bottle necklace. This one embellished with the Cheshire cat and a lovely tree.

Sparrow Clothing Shop

A creative spin on Alice's dress.

Faery Spell Creations Shop

The romantic version of Alice's dress.

Mom 2 RTK Shop

The Alice in Wonderland dress to a T.

Mommas A Princess Too Shop

Alice wears a small ribbon in her hair tied into a bow. Here is a stretchy blue lace head band.

Hopelessly Devoted Shop

A spin on the bow Alice wears. A little larger than the original but just as adorable.

Enchantedly Yours Shop

An even bigger bow than the original. This is for that creative twist for a genuine Alice in Wonderland costume.

Hydra Heart Shop

You cant forget the shoes. The original shoes Alice is illustrated with have a small heel and a pointed toe, a kind of clog type shoe. Alice's feet in the Disney illustrations are adorned with little black flats, I thought this would be a better alternative for comfort and an affordable foot wear.

The Generation Shop

Ballet slippers give a precious touch to an Alice costume.

The Generation Shop

The sheer fabric gives that frilly girlie feel to any Alice costume.

"Said Alice; "One can't believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age I always did it for half an hour a day. Sometimes I believed as man as six impossible things before breakfast." ~Lewis Carroll
